With the Opposition launching a war of words on the PM and seeking his resignation every other day, the day seem to be far from happy for him.

Professor in New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University, Mridula Mukherjee has been quoted as saying, "I think his tenure as the Prime Minister of United Progressive Alliance (UPA)-I was his peak time. The series of corruption scandals during UPA-II eroded Manmohan Singh's image too, though he brought the high standards of probity, honesty, integrity and hard work to the PM's post."
There are also talks that Manmohan Singh might gun for the President post next year. Present President Pratibha Patil will demit office on July 2012 and Manmohan Singh seem to be the obvious choice for the top post. Mukherjee commented on this likely scenario, "That is the only post he may accept or aspire at the age of 80 next year."
Ravi Shankar Prasad, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary on Singh's turbulent term said, "Manmohan Singh has been evading the crucial issue of corruption. It does not bode well for a Prime Minister to give a clean chit to a controversial minister like Chidambaram. Otherwise, Manmohan Singh's regime is identified with scandals and burning problems like inflation."
Political analyst N Bhaskar Rao made the comment on Manmohan Singh that said, "he is a poor communicator. The Prime Minister still has not lost his reputation as a good economist and an honest politician."
Even though leaders across the political spectrum have high regard for Manmohan Singh, many believe that 'he was the right person in the wrong party'. But with those within the Congress stating there was a concerted effort by the media and the opposition to malign his image, the facts prove matters otherwise.

Baba Ramdev's injured Ramlila supporter dead
Baba Ramdev's supporter Rajbala who sustained injuries during the police crackdown at the Ramlila Maidan died at the hospital.
51-year-old Rajbala was undergoing treatment at the GB Pant Hospital since Jun and was said to be in 'critical condition' then.
Rajbala was seriously injured in the police lathi-charge that took place on Jun 6 which left many of the Ramdev supporters injured. She was admitted to the ICU.

Sona sexually abused by SPB Charan
Actress Sona Heiden has alleged that SPB Charan, the son of legendary singer SP Balasubramanyam, has misbehaved with her at recently held Mankatha success bash. The frustrated actress claims that the producer-singer sexually harassed her by making obscene advances.
Sona said, “Venkat Prabhu and Premji are my best friends in the Tamil film industry and you will often find me in their gang. In fact, I am the only girl in their group. Like usual, I was invited for a party, which was the bash to celebrate the success of Mankatha held at actor Vaibhav's house. There were six members out of which I knew only two.”
“SPB Charan, who had abused me several times before did the same again yesterday. While I was standing alone, he came to me and daringly asked me to sleep with him before touching my private parts. Sensing he was inebriated, I pushed him back and shouted at him. Soon Premji entered the scene and SPB asked sorry for his misbehaviour,” she claims.
The actress further adds, “Later, once again he started talking rubbish and asked me what's my rate. His argument was when actresses could shed their clothes on-screen, why couldn't they do the same in reality? And he went on asking me that he was willing to pay any amount if she was ready to sleep with him. Venkat Prabhu sensed that I was in danger and rushed to where I was standing. The Mankatha director dragged him and fought with the singer. He told him to leave the place and everybody supported me.”
“I have health issues, heart problems and I am going through depression. I am supposed to be calm. But this incident has hurt me a lot. Now, I want justice and I am planning to lodge a complaint against him. And also I am giving SPB Charan 10 days time to ask me apology in public. I am not going to let him go easily.” Deeply hurt Sona concludes.
